I have been so tired of lifting one pan to get to another one. To solve the problem I moved all my cookery across 3 locations. They are relatively close, but with so many people cooking and putting them away, nothing is ever put back in the same spot twice. I don't even think the lids we have go to these pans! I probably should get a new set, but who has money for that? They work and are good enough.
Keith, my hubby, and I were looking around our kitchen this morning discussing organizing our pots and pans. We agree that we love the cabinets next to the stove as they are. They have pull out drawers and we already organized to be functional for us. Directly across from the stove we have a cabinet that is valuable real estate and it just storing things we don't use very often. This space may work better to hold our pans.
I think it would be fun to do this together. I would love to see your before and after photos. I usually write my post after I have finished the project, this time I am going to do it in real time so that you know it does take time, it is messy, it is a process, and it is worth it.
Here are the photos of where I am at now. How in the world do you organize this mess?
There are many ways to go about it and it all depends on space and how you like things. Are you a visual person? Do you need everything out in front of you so you can see it? When I was little, my Aunt had all her pots and pans hanging over her island. All she had to do was reach up grab what she wanted. This is perfect for anyone who visual! I think my son would do well with this system. It's too much chaos for me, I need my stuff hidden, and organized.
I like this one. You can clearly see everything you have. You don't have to move one item to get to another one, when that happens usually everything falls - at least that happens for me. Then I either get mad and yell at whoever is standing closest to me or I start crying because I created a huge mess. This space puts me at ease. I know where everything goes, how to put it back, it's dummy proof - perfect!! I wish I had this space. In this cabinet you see products from Neat House and Sweet Home. I included pictures of more of their products below.
I like everything in hidden detailed areas. I showed my husband a few options and he picked this one. I am surprised, It's not the one I would have picked. It is still too messy for me. Even just looking it is giving me anxiety. But I am not the only one in the house, it is a give and take.
There are so many options for organizers. But please don't feel like you have to buy something to get organized. Most of us have nasty old cookie sheets. We can place those at the bottom of the cabinets and viola, we now have a pull-out!! It is magic. Put your creative cap on and show me your ideas please! I'd love to see what you come up with. Here are some things I found online.
Here are some more options I found that I liked. There are so many, I would love to see what you have.
When I get mine organized, I'll share my outcome. I hope you'll do the same.
Tootles for now,
Tina
